The 10th Tokyo Demo Day with 18 startups from 7 countries

Orange Fab Asia held the 10th Demo Day in Tokyo on November 8th welcoming several guests including Stephane Richard, Chairman and CEO of Orange. 11 startups from Orange Fab Asia program in Tokyo, Seoul, and Taipei as well as 7 guest startups participated in the event to showcase their innovative services by pitch and demo at booths.

The Demo Day kicked-off by welcome message by Jean-Michel Serre, CEO of Orange Japan and Director of Open Innovation Asia of Orange. Following his speech, he introduced Stephane Richard, who talked about the importance of open innovation for Orange and presented success cases. He handed over the microphone to Laurent Pic, the French Ambassador to Japan, who spoke about the value of relationship between France and Japan including activities of French Tech Tokyo.

We welcomed the next guest speaker, Hiroshi Kawamata, Director-General, Intellectual property and Innovation department of JETRO, who introduced J-Startup, a startup support program by Japanese government. 6 startups from Orange Fab Tokyo are selected in J-Startup, among which ABEJA from the Season 1 presented how the startup is growing utilizing support from J-Startup and Orange Fab Asia.

  • NTT Com Startup Challenge Indonesia: Halal Local (Indonesia)
  • K-Startup: XtayPro (Vietnam)

After the all pitches, audiences voted to select the winner.

Fall 2018 Season Tokyo Demo Day Winner: OTON GLASS

OTON GLASS is smart glasses for visually impaired people, who are realizing a world where everyone can read letters. You just look to letters you would like to read and push button on the glasses, and then the letters are read in voice.

After the winner announcement, audiences visited the booths of 18 startups and enjoyed networking party with nice food and drinks. Thank you for over 150 guests and presenters to join in the event.
